Advantages of Merco MEB Bond Tape over Mechanical Fasteners

  • Ability to tolerate differentiate movement of up to 3 (three) times their thickness
  • Acrylic foam tape can compensate for most irregularities of surface structure
  • Resists corrosion (unlike metal on metal fasteners)
  • Solvent and moisture resistant (but not recommended for submersion)
  • Reduce Vibration
  • Reduction in number of sku's. One tape instead of many size fasteners

Application Guide

  • Generally, 4 (four) square inches of tape should be used for each pound of supported load, in a static state
  • 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol/water is recommended for cleaning surfaces before application. Surfaces should, of course, be dry
  • Temperature application range is best between 70F and 95F. For applications at temperatures outside these parameters it is recommended bond be tested before signing off for final use.
  • 15 PSI of pressure is recommended for normal, even surface application
  • Strength is dependent on the amount of adhesive to surface contact. For better support, embossing, braying, rolling etc can be used.
  • At 70F, 50% of final bond strength will be achieved in the first 20 minutes. Maximum bond strength will be achieved 72-96 hours after application.
